We had some visitors. They had a party in our cupboards. They made pancakes!
Who is "they"? "They" are mice!! M-I-C-E
Oh yeah.
When we first moved into our place last May, we came across 2 baby mice in a drawer. My Dad just took them outside and stepped on them.
I would have a hard time going to bed. Just thinking about mice running around in the walls and who knows where just creeped me out. So I immediately got some cats. I am not much of an animal person, but if it takes an animal to get rid of a nasty animal, then I will sacrifice.
The cats have been doing a great job. I have seen them on many occasions playing with dead mice. And I love it. Until now. When they aren't doing their job.
I went to get things ready for dinner and just saw tons of droppings. At first I thought it was some type of spice. But then I got looking and realized that they were poop. There were probably 50 droppings. It was quite a bit.
So I waited until Derek got home so that he could go through all the cupboards. I was sick to my stomach.
I have most of my baking stuff in plastic containers, thank goodness. But the other bagged stuff got torn into. Some rice, cornmeal, pancake mix, and masa.
I keep on trying to compare myself to all the horror stories I have heard about mice. I try to convince myself that my situation isn't that bad.
Maybe another cat? haha I have a good story about that for tomorrow.

I'm so sorry mice are disgusting!!! We had mice in one of our old places where there was a huge field behind our house. We used mice/rat poison. We put it in our garage, around the perimeter of our place, in the cupboards, especially under the sink because they like damp places. It didn't take to long to get rid of them using that. Good luck!
I hate mice and rats!!! We had that dumb rat in our garage and at first I thought it was a mouse so we had mice traps out. Well, it was eating the pnut butter and moving them around like little toys. Not until we got the big rat traps did we catch it. But yeah it got into top ramen and a bunch of cereal and other food. Good luck!
Looks like it's time to let the cats live inside! ;) jk! Did you ever hear the story about the mouse megan found in their inside trash can the other day? ValaRee and the mouse had quite the war with each other :) I think the mouse ended up under the dishwasher with half its tail missing and the majority of its fur gone... Hope your battle is less of a struggle!
